Angeline the Baker is a classic jam tune. This tune is played in the key of D. As banjo players we have some options when interpreting a D tune with open G tuning. One option is to play out of C shape, capo at the 2nd fret, and spike the 5th string at the 7th fret. For Scruggs style playing this is usually the way to go. If that's your jam, then Check out the Scruggs Style - Key of C. After that check out Scruggs Style - key of D to expand your horizons even more. Both of these arrangements work great with the difficulty slider and reveal the core melody at the easiest setting.

If Melodic style playing is what you are into, we've got you covered there too. Generally, the key of C requires less big stretches when playing in the melodic style. Playing in the key of D offers a full two octave range and some really beautiful sounds. Make sure to get familiar with the Melodic Scales and check out the C Melodic Scale Workout and the D Melodic Scale Workout .
